President and CEO
Alex Merrifield is the President and CEO of ComNet Communications, LLC, a national leader in the construction and maintenance of IT infrastructure, audio-visual systems, and related services for a diverse range of businesses and government agencies. He deeply believes that building a customer-centric organization is the path to sustainable success for ComNet.
Alex is a graduate of University of Texas – Dallas. Prior to joining ComNet, Alex was Assistant Treasurer of Spie Group, Inc., a US subsidiary of Spie Batignolles, SA, a French construction company providing building and infrastructure construction in France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, the U.S. and Canada. Alex was the CFO at ComNet Communications prior to his promotion to President.
Alex enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family.
Senior Vice President – Human Resources
Norma has 25+ years with ComNet, and possesses a broad base of industry experience. She believes that ComNet’s employees are what make the company successful, and supports the company’s efforts to assemble the best team in the industry. Norma prides herself on her ability to connect with ComNet’s employees and understand the factors that impact their lives. Her efforts have contributed greatly to the longevity and advancement of ComNet’s employees within a large and diverse industry.
Norma has worked to develop the HR processes that make ComNet an industry leader. In addition, she has spearheaded the development and administration of the various benefits plans and employee education programs at ComNet.
Norma enjoys travel, outdoor activities and spending time with family and friends.
Senior Vice President, COO
Glenn has over 25 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry starting as a technician and working his way up to Vice President. He currently manages the Northeast Region and has led the expansion into the Mid Atlantic market. He understands that client satisfaction is the ultimate goal of the organization, and he fosters that spirit throughout his management and installation team.
Glenn’s expertise within the telecommunications industry includes: specialty contractor operations, complex project management, cost estimating, procurement management and cost control systems. In addition, Glenn has effectively aided the organization’s growth through new initiatives and territories.
Glenn has been with the company since 1997. He has taken on numerous roles in the company including Regional Sales Manager, Chief Estimator, and Division Manager prior to his current position as VP of ComNet’s Northeast Division. These experiences within the organization have helped shape the management framework that Glenn has implemented in the Northeast. Glenn is an active participant in the project life cycle, from initial presentations, through the bidding and contracts phase, implementation management, cost controls and project closeout.
Glenn holds a Telecom license for the State of CT, and his educational background includes a bachelor’s degree from Pace University in New York.
The Personal Side
Glenn is married with three children. While he’s away from the office, Glenn enjoys sports, reading, music, and spending time with his family.
Senior Vice President
William Bielmyer started full time with ComNet (formerly Comstock Communications) in 1991 as a Project Manager. In 1993 he was promoted to Sales Manager and in 1995 promoted to Vice President of Business Development. William has worked in Jacksonville, FL and Danbury, CT during his tenure at ComNet. In 2012 William accepted his most recent promotion to Vice President of the Southeast Division where he oversees all operations and sales for the Southeast division. His industry knowledge and overall dedication make him an integral piece to ComNet’s management team.
William has over 25 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry starting in the field as a cable installer. From there he was promoted to Project Manager and managed several large national account customers where he supported estimating, purchasing, implementation, and management. Customers such as Northern Telecom and GTEL of California gave William his first experience in the National Account arena. After several years as a Project Manager, William then used his skills to start the sales division at ComNet. Today, ComNet’s sales force is 16 strong. Currently as Vice President of the Southeast Division his talents are used not only to help further sales growth but to also manage the operational delivery of each project. His process oriented approach has helped ComNet maximize productivity while growing customer service.
Having worked in so many capacities at ComNet including field technician, project manager, estimator, purchaser, sales manager, and executive, William has gained tremendous experience in the telecom industry. He now uses his experience to not only manage the efforts of ComNet’s personnel in the Southeast but to also help forge ComNet’s ongoing strategic direction. William’s expertise has contributed to the addition of many of ComNet’s new service offerings including DAS, WLAN, GPON, Security, and Digital Signage.
The Personal Side
William is married with two sons and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Florida as well as many industry certifications. Outside of work he enjoys his family, traveling, golf, tennis, boating, visits to the beach, and other forms of leisure. His dream vacation one day would be a week in Scotland playing golf with his two sons.
Drawing from over 30 years’ experience in the low voltage infrastructure business, Jim has the seen the evolution of the Telecom Industry. Jim strives to bring the highest level of technical skill and flexibility to ComNet’s clients.
Jim’s operational experience includes both field management and project management for numerous Fortune 500 customers. While at ComNet, Jim has held the position of Senior Estimator and Operations Manager. He was promoted to Vice President in 2002, tasked with managing the overall day to day operations for ComNet’s Southwest Region.
Jim became a member of BICSI, the telecommunication standards and training organization, in 1994 and became a Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) in 1995. Jim has maintained this distinction to date as well as being a certified designer of many cable manufacturer offerings.

Any time outside the office you can find Jim enjoying one of the following; fishing, hunting, golfing, traveling or spending time with family.
Vice President of business Development
Peter Gouveia came to ComNet in January 2001 as an Enterprise Sales Engineer, 2005 Peter was promoted to Director of Enterprise Accounts. His most recent promotion to Vice President of Business Development occurred in 2011. His industry knowledge and dedication to an expansive customer base makes Peter and integral piece to ComNet’s management team.
Peter has over 20 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry starting in the distribution world and eventually working for one of the world’s largest health care companies. As a consultant for AT&T he furthered his telecommunications experience working on merger and acquisition projects. Currently as VP – Business Development, he is expanding ComNet’s reach into Fortune 500 accounts.
Working for a major distributor of telecomm products, Peter gained valuable experience understanding logistics. As his career developed into managing a cabling division for a Fortune 100 customer with 300+ office locations, he gained the industry knowledge and understanding of how voice and data networks were beginning to converge. Working closely with the operations team during the lifecycle of a project,
Peter understands the complexity of estimating, installation & site commissioning.
From operations to sales, Peter has effectively managed both client needs and industry direction to help build and maintain ComNet’s customer base.
The Personal Side
Peter is married with two sons and is very active in their school and sporting activities. Outside of work they enjoy boating, sports and culture.
Chief Financial Officer
Paul Anderson joined ComNet in April 2017 as Chief Financial Officer overseeing a staff of 15 in 4 regional offices. His strong belief in teamwork and understanding of various IT systems has enabled Paul to streamline various processes and reporting to further ComNet with our exciting growth
Paul has over 18 years’ experience in accounting and financial roles within various industries, including public accounting, construction, manufacturing, and hotel management. His knowledge of diverse industries combined with his CPA, MBA and JD enable Paul to be a valuable asset to the ComNet Executive Team
Having grown up in the construction industry and run construction crews during college, Paul has a firsthand understanding of what the many employees at all levels in the organization encounter daily and he seeks to use this knowledge to support and strengthen ComNet. Having held various financial leadership roles in several companies, Paul has a successful track record of leading an organization within the financial space. His understanding of financial reporting and contract law provide ComNet with strong leadership and insight to the overall operations and financial health of the organization.
The Personal Side
Paul resides in New York with his wife and four children. He was a member of the 1999 Florida State National Championship Football Team and is an avid fan of collegiate athletics. He enjoys watching the kids’ various sporting events and spending time with family.
