| DD100 INTRODUCTION TO VOICE/DATA CABLING SYSTEMS Get the facts! Learn the fundamentals of structured cabling systems.
Telecommunications systems and cabling requirements are constantly changing. Office buildings need high performance cabling systems for Internet and intranet capability. Schools have moved from a few phones per school to wiring each classroom for the World Wide Web. Building cabling systems are integrating voice, data, security, paging, and environmental controls. Unfortunately, millions of dollars are wasted each year due to improper design and installation. The majority of local area network problems are directly or indirectly attributed to the performance of the cabling system.
In DD100, you will learn about cabling pathways and spaces, different types of cabling, how to work with contractors, how to evaluate the work, and how projects are implemented.
