The executive team at ComNet has long been one of our greatest strengths. They are by far the most talented group in the industry, and have led ComNet through a period of extraordinary growth and success. However, organizations aren’t static things. They grow and evolve over time. Leaders emerge, with an opportunity to put their imprint on the company. This is the process that re-energizes the company as it moves forward. Against this backdrop, I’m very pleased to announce the following.
Jim Phillips will be stepping away from his role managing the Dallas office effective January 1, 2018. Jim came to ComNet via the Craig Communications acquisition in 1998. During his time at Craig/ComNet, Jim has performed and excelled at virtually every position within the company. In 2002, Jim was promoted to Vice President and took over an office generating annual revenues of $5 million, primarily from the DFW market. Under Jim’s direction, the office grew to $48 million in annual revenues, with over 100 technicians working on projects across the country. This required a tremendous amount of dedication, vision, and hard work on Jim’s part. With all due respect to Larry the Cable Guy, I think that Jim originated the phrase “git ‘er done”. Fortunately, ComNet won’t be losing this talent. Going forward, it will be re-directed toward local business development and supporting selected enterprise customers. I have complete confidence that Jim will be successful in this new role, and that all of ComNet will be the beneficiaries.
Bill Bielmyer will be promoted to the level of Senior Vice President, with responsibility for both the Dallas and Jacksonville offices. Bill started full time with ComNet in 1991 as a Project Manager. Since that time, he has advanced through the company as Sales Manager, Vice President – Business Development, and most recently as Vice President – Southeast Division. Bill brings a tremendous amount of insight and experience to the Dallas office. Most recently, Bill’s efforts have been focused on revitalizing the Jacksonville office. His efforts to reposition the office within the North Florida marketplace, along with an emphasis on profitability have been essential to ComNet’s recent success. Bill, his wife Michelle and their two sons, William III and Tristan, will be relocating to Dallas in mid-2018. In the interim, Bill will be commuting between Dallas and Jacksonville. This represents a major commitment on the part of Bill and his family. ComNet is extremely fortunate to be able to capitalize on the enormous talent these two individuals bring to the company, and we are eager to continue the forward momentum that has allowed ComNet to maintain a leadership position within our industry.
Please join me in wishing Jim and Bill much success in their new roles.
President, ComNet Communications
